Pressure (Ln) / Impact Insulation Class (IIC) is given by:

A standard tapping machine is placed in
operation on a test specimen that forms a horizontal
separation between two rooms, one directly above the other.
The transmitted impact sound
characterized by the spectrum of the space-time average
one-third octave band sound pressure levels projected by the
tapping machine is measured in the receiving room below.
Reverberation
time inside the receiving room is also measured for room
absorption correction.

測試件安裝在聲源室與接收室之間的洞口內,開動放於測試件上的標準撞擊器,
聲音經由測試件進入接收室內。
傳聲器於接收室中進行收音。
量度接收室的混響時間作為吸音量的修正用途。
